The Sims 4 is a life simulation video game and the sequel to The Sims 3. On May 6, 2013, Maxis Studio confirmed that the game would be released on PC and Mac in 2014. At E3 2014, Electronic Arts confirmed that the game will go on sale worldwide on September 2, 2014, and in Russia on September 4, 2014. The game was released on macOS on February 17, 2015.

On July 12, 2019, the Monthly Maxis video stream took place, where the developers introduced the updated visual style of The Sims 4. The changes affected the cover, logo, main menu and loading screen of the game; for add-ons - covers, logos and icons.
